The Battle After the War: DBG is being revealed on 1 March 2022. This fictitious story about a young man, Timothy, who gets injured fighting a warehouse fire while serving in the U.S. Navy. He goes home to heal and his mother urges him to come to the hospital to meet ‘Bernie’, a terminally-ill veteran with many years of experience.

There are many veterans and service-members today who feel alone in their daily struggles and many do not know where to turn. There are many pitfalls and ‘high walls’ that one needs to climb, to get through their journey. Some waste many years and become bitter and resentful, while others are lucky enough to get through their experience with little effort.

I truly believe we are all on our journey and some have to go through rough times to become stronger and/or better people, while others seem to skate through life with no worries. At times I was envious of others because of the lack of effort needed on their behalf, while I struggled. Everything happens for a reason.

Each day is a new day and one to embrace and attempt to be the best ‘you’ that you can be. It may be a tough day to get through, or it may be an easy day and filled with great things. Either way, embrace the day and pursue your goals and don’t fill your time with other peoples’ drama.
